Happyland is a Christian mixed day and boarding Primary School. The School opened its doors to its first pupils in the year 1993 as Pre-school in a rented house. After five year of success of the pre-school, the management decided to open up a primary section. This took place in the year 1999 and sat for our first K.C.P.E in year 2006. In 2007 a Boarding section commenced which is currently holding the capacity of 500 pupils. It is now a full day and boarding school. In the year 2015, Girls’ high school in Kiserian was started and in the year 2021 new primary school was started in Greenspan that hosts new curriculum system (CBC), in year 2023 we have started two Junior Secondary Schools; one in Buruburu and the other one in Greenspan.
Happyland Schools runs a vibrant extracurricular programme to encourage exploration and curiosity as well as nurturing diverse talents and skills.
Clubs
Taking place during the lunch hour as well as before and after school clubs include Football, Music and Art , Ballet, Golf and Tae-Kwon-Do.
Friday Afternoon Activities
Encouraging children to explore new interests and to discover their personal strengths, Friday afternoons are cherished times as children take part in a range of activities such as Computer Coding, Chess, Debating and Public Speaking, Scouts, Beaded Jewellery and Life Saving.
Sports
Making the most of our beautiful and extensive grounds, as well as encouraging a long term healthy lifestyle, sport plays a significant part in the lives of all the children at Happyland. Our wide range of sporting activities promote individual development through a balance of competitive, cooperative and team experiences.
Trips and Excursions
Trips and excursions provide pupils with exposure to the many facets of Kenya as well as enhancing learning and teamwork. Most visits are day trips to places of interest and provide insight on a topic in and around Nairobi. Pupil trips include: Kazuri Beads, KSPCA, Nairobi Safari Walk, Karura Forest, Kuona Art Trust, Elephant Orphanage and The Standard Newspaper.
Pastoral Care
We implement Pastoral Program Instruction (PPI) is a school based and coordinated intervention to help individual learners improve their social, emotional and behavioral skills. We also have a school Counsellor who attends to our children, staff and parents at a personal level
