Parents are integral to the success of CBC. They are encouraged to actively participate in their child's learning by providing support at home, engaging with teachers, and facilitating practical learning experiences.

Assessments in CBC are both formative and summative. Formative assessments are continuous and occur during the learning process, providing feedback to guide instruction. Summative assessments evaluate learner competencies at the end of a learning period.

In Grades 1 to 3, learners study:

Unlike the 8-4-4 system, which emphasized content mastery and examinations, CBC prioritizes skill acquisition, continuous assessment, and the practical application of knowledge. It is learner-centered, promoting active participation and personalized learning paths.

The CBC follows a 2-6-3-3-3 system:

1. 1. Early Years Education: 2 years of pre-primary (Pre-Primary 1 and 2).
   2. Primary Education: 6 years (Grades 1 to 6).
   3. Junior Secondary Education: 3 years (Grades 7 to 9).
   4. Senior Secondary Education: 3 years (Grades 10 to 12).
   5. Tertiary Education: A minimum of 3 years.
